How do we help?

Our beautiful daughter started to come undone after the age of 14. It has been up and down all the way from there. She is beautiful, smart, intelligent, kind but there is another side. A side which is hard to determine. A lash of the tongue which can whip you at any time. Harsh words cast upon you and the people u love, irrational thoughts and behaviors, unkind, unloving and totally convinced you are the worst, most unkind person in the world. Well, Im not knew to this, because my mother diplays all of these attributes. I have been surrounded by this most of my life. Its like the world has been trying to state something! Look, listen, im hurting, what are you going to do? Ive tried, pleaded, begged. Made mistakes, had wins. But all the same, ends the same. Torn heartbroken words that hurt, but how can I help? What is my purpose, but to help the ones I love. How do I do this?

I'm sorry you're going through this.
Has your daughter been diagnosed with BPD?
In my opinion, therapy for you as well as her at different times helps. The therapist can guide you in helping mechanisms for you and your daughter. Remember, sometimes doing nothing is the best assistance we can give.
Keep posting here, we are a great resource, and a reminder that you are not alone.

Not diagnosed. Have been through mental health system and diagnosed 3 years ago with mood disorder. Unable to get her to any therapist since. I have been going alone for guide and assistance. She will be 21 this year.
