Over a year NC Life is good

For some reason, I always thought permanent NC is wrong. However, with my BPD toxic sister cutting me off over a year ago I can honestly say it was the best thing she ever could have done. She is such a toxic and sick individual (which I knew), I rarely even think of her (part of the reason I am barely on this forum). She has launched a "smear campaign" on me for so many years on another chat forum I haven't been on as I don't care about what she has to say and haven't in over a year! She was regularly writing about me, mostly lies, but she is an admitted pathological liar so if it looks like a duck and walks likes a duck, hey, it's a duck! She is an epublished writer of porn...yep that is right, porn, but she does know how to write fiction and had many worshippers on that chat forum reading her made up version of life so god bless her! When I knew her, she had few friends and usually burned bridges with new friends she made. I am happy without her and have no desire to reconnect. I have great kids, great friends, an awesome guy of over a year and a rewarding job! I learned in therapy it is okay to cut folks off if they are trying to destroy you. My therapist read some of the cr*p she wrote on the forum and said she is very toxic and stay away. So we can go NC and come out on the other side! Yoga helps too! I am almost 6 months into my certification the be an instructor! I hope others can find happy closure whatever way they can! I will try and stop by from time to time to read and maybe help! Peace and thank you!

Thank you for sharing, this gave me hope today. I need the reassurance that the "cutting out" is a good and healthy thing.

I can't really say it is good but definitely healthy. We don't pick our family and when they are toxic we are left with tough choices. Message me anytime if you would like to chat. Good luck.

I am glad the choice you made has worked out so well. You have worked hard on yourself too during the year, at least in terms of detaching. What else have you done that has made this so successful for you?
