Hello, i have been in a ob and off relationships with my boyfriend who has not been diagnosed with BpD but fits in in all categories of someone who has it. We have been together for 1 year and have a 2 month baby together. He doesn’t trust me. And is fine one day and gets mad and leaves me. Won’t talk to me and ignore my messages/calls. Eventually reaches out to ask about daughter now. And I tell him I missed him and love him. That we need to talk and work things out. It’s a roller coaster  with him. I am very hurt with his verbal behavior towards me and leaving me for days.

I’m so sorry to hear about your pain, especially with having a young baby and al the additional stress that must cause having such an inconsistent partner.

These relationships are more than tough, they can be excruciating.  People with BPD are very unwell and are in a lot of pain.  My husband that I have been together with for 7 years is the most amazing man but has the severe Jekyll and Hyde phenomenon and he is not someone that is pleasant to be around when he is in emotional overdrive, his temperament becomes chaotic and his says the most unkind things to me.  In his current emotional bout he actually said that he doesn’t even know why we got married and started to quiz me about time I spent with other men a dozen years ago.  It is absolutely crazy making, these hurtful things come from the same person that I spend so much beautiful time, who is funny, smart and just a wonderful person to be around.  I look at him and am astounded by the words that come out of his mouth.

I don’t know what I’m going to do, I’m just trying to take care of myself and give it over to god, and keep my boundaries firm and not accept this blatant disrespect and I just wanted you to know you’re not alone.

Take good care of yourself and your baby and don’t allow yourself to be disrespected.

Much love
