Is this normal?

I was sad when it ended but it was amicable. My co-dependent issues rose up from the dead BIG TIME and I'm addressing thosr. He wanted to explore monogamy with one of his concurrent girlfriends and stay friends with me. She soothes him more. She has more time to be available to him.
This is what I'm wonderin about -->
We text every day. Some times he initiates. Other times I do. I quickly placed a boundary on him discussing his sex life with me, no thank u!. I enjoy his texts. It's regular chat not a thing sexual. Is this normal? He knows I have a primary partner yet does not get jealous of him. Instead he gets jealous of other potential boyfriends. Does he want me as a real friend or is this a BPD ploy for supply?

He is in treatment. He knows I would like to be in a relationship with him.
