I'm curious about what you think would be a non-Rescuer response to the guy in the video [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r0b5oCWSBqU] when he said, "But didn't you love me; didn't you care about me?".
Couscous, I took the liberty of starting a new topic on the Bettering Board with this question since I hope others may be able to give you a better answer than me.
I guess if I do love the person I'd see they are looking for reassurance and say that I do love and care for them. Later, I might ask them how/when they most feel my love and care, and brainstorm ways they might better ask for reassurance when they are feeling low.
If I no longer love them, I might say "Yes, I did love you, and while I still care for you and want the best for you, I no longer love you in that way. I understand this is difficult to hear and not what you want."
How'd I do?
