So I was guilted for not trying to make her feel better last night, Gaslit on when I said I was coming home from a business trip, chewed out for supporting my 12yo daughter and taking her out on a daddy/daughter date last night after her winter formal, and also insulted and accused of having an affair this morning for running and spending time with friends in my running club. Mentally - I am in such a better place than last year - this is my feeling now…

Outdoor enthusiast,
Yes! I’m with you on this. It has been such a challenging time the past couple of months but no doubt I am So Much Stronger than I was. Many of the changes I have made like wearing what I want and keeping in touch with my family, I know that I’m not ever turning back to how things were… other boundaries like how much I’ll put up with from my wife can be harder to quantify, especially when I’m trying not to upset the apple cart with our 3 young children around. Bpd family has been amazing though. I quietly remind myself, “you have so many friends who understand now…” And I smile inside…

Congratulations!
You have mastered your version of the DBT skill of 'radical acceptance'.
