Hi there! Curious to know who has read Rules of Estrangement by Joshua Coleman PhD. I personally think his book is phenomenal and totally on point. It's like he wrote the book for me.

On the complete other end of the spectrum, curious if anyone has read any of Stephi Wagner's Mother Wound Project blogs or posts.
Would love to start a conversation about it.

Given you've not had a response yet, didn't want to leave you hanging. I'd be interested to know why you found theses books so helpful. What were the revelations for you ? (i.e. I might read them if they're good).  Doing the right thing (click to insert in post)

Thanks so much for your response. Dr. Coleman, in Rules of Estrangement ,addresses estrangement from the parent /grandparent perspective. He calls it like it is, and like this group, shows me I'm not alone in this new phenomenon of our adult children and their spouses.

The Mother Wound Project does the exact opposite. Gives the perspective of the adult child. It's really tough to read some of her thoughts/blogs, but does give helpful insight into what our children may be thinking, right or wrong.

To add, the above is specifically about estrangement, not about mental health issues. With that said, Dr. Coleman does touch upon it, for both adult children and their spouses.
