Before you can make things better, you have to stop making them worse... Have you considered that being critical, judgmental, or invalidating toward the other parent, no matter what she or he just did will only make matters worse? Someone has to be do something. This means finding the motivation to stop making things worse, learning how to interrupt your own negative responses, body language, facial expressions, voice tone, and learning how to inhibit your urges to do things that you later realize are contributing to the tensions.

I feel so exhausted. Tired of all this bull. I feel so degraded and alone. I can't trust her emotions and I feel like I'm going to have crying spells all the time. Don't know what to do. In that apathetic place where I'm still in the relationship but feel I'm going through the motions. She can obviously tell a little bit of what is going on but I am really, really tired. To tired to tell her how I feel, to tired to break up with her (hoping that doing nothing will help), I'm depressed and I need to get out of this rut.

I don't have many friends anymore, mainly because I quit drinking and she has inherited all of them.

Can anyone help me with a plan to detach?

I was where you are now a month ago.  Was in that place of being soo exhausted and pushed to the edge for 3 months.  We broke up 2 weeks ago--went NC.  Was hard at first.  I was a wreck for a week... .  but the past week I've been coming back to life.  It's been a long haul, but I'm here to tell you can do it.  You can.  We didn't live together, so that's made things a lot easier.  I can't imagine I'd be where I'm at today if we'd lived together.
