MBTI and BPD

Does anyone have info or thoughts about common MBTI personality types among BPD disordered people or among Nons that are more likely to get involved with BPD type people?

I've heard (and asked my T and she basically agreed) that psychiatrists don't put much weight with the MBTI. As a non-psych professional, I find it useful for getting a basic idea of someone's personality, quirks, and preferences.

My exBPDgf always derided the MBTI and personality tests in general even though she admitted she'd taken a few. She'd never tell me what type she was, though. I've thought about it a lot and I believe she's an ISFP.

As a comparison, I'm definitely an INTJ.

I'm an intj too.  And female.  However, have been feeling more "f" lately

I had my bf take the test and he came out intj as well.  Funny tho, when I asked him, he wanted to be sure that it wasn't a mental illness test!  That was back in the early days.  Can we say "mirroring"? Lol  I don't think mentally ill people can have an mbti... .especially considering they have no sense of self.

Yes, intj... .research and fix!  That's what I do best.   Doesn't work to fix people tho, and geez that is frustrating!

Do you think it's our introversion and poor romantic skills that attract these people? I read love is paradoxical to them. The more you love them, the more they push you away. I'm very cautious about opening up to people. Maybe that intrigues them.

I'm BPD and match ENTP profile which is supposedly the best romantic match with INTJ, so we just attract each other, we just have to work hard together so that we don't get out of control.

I've always tested as strongly INTJ. Really interesting that so many of us are the same type.

I think that it might have something to do with our problem-solving nature, and our poor romantic skills. I know that for me, I always had a rough time making friends and being social in general. But at the same time, I also had a great level of confidence in my own abilities - so I probably felt like the issues in my relationship were always solvable, even as the evidence started to mount that they weren't. I think pwBPD might be attracted to INTJs' natural self-confidence, and unlike other people, we might be willing to tolerate a wider range of events in relationships than most people, especially since we tend to perceive ourselves as "bad" at relationships, and therefore unable to tell what sort of behavior is acceptable or unacceptable.

I also think that a result of my relationship, my personality no longer feels very INTJ-like to me. It's like life has forcefully thrown me into the "F" world, and like it or not, I need to reapproach life from this perspective in order to heal my emotional wounds. So after I finish processing this experience, I really wonder if I will still be an INTJ.
