Yeah I agree.

I think the great thing that came out of all this is I learned why its important to have boundaries and uphold my boundaries. It's really for my own well being in my view. After seeing what happens to me if I let my boundaries get crossed, I'm not gonna let it happen again

They only come back if you let them.

I realize everyone has specifics and details which make your situation complicated or different.  But really, it's quite simple.

You have to decide who is more important?  You or them.
