Hypodermic needles

I would like to know what everyone thinks as I'm a little confused.
My dBPD daughter (age 25) and her boyfriend were having a conversation in front of me. He said "Should we tell your mom how we're planning on making money?" My daughter responded very annoyingly "SHHHHHHHH!" (in other words 'be quiet'. I didn't pursue it, but did notice that her credit card account showed a paypal purchase for something that was going to be shipped the same day this conversation took place. Also she had a paypal purchase that same day for some 'baby goods' (she does not have a child or knows anyone with a child). So a couple of weeks after that conversation a package came to the house addressed to her and I opened it . . it was a package of hypodermic needles. Yes, she does have a history of substance abuse and has been relatively clean for a while . . AND she has never used needles before (from my understanding), PLUS her boyfriend is NOT into drugs and has told me before that if he finds out that my daughter is using anything more than mj or alcohol that he is OUT of the relationship and since my daughter is so incredibly needy - I find it hard to believe that she would jeopardize the relationship. Since I have no idea what the needles might be used for (besides the obvious), I did a search online and found out that perhaps it could be used for something to do with photography (?).
I would love for you to weigh in on your thoughts . . am I just being in major denial? Is it possible that they have something semi-legal that they are planning on doing with them? Is this the time to be using "benign interpretation"? Could the hypodermic needles and 'baby stuff' have any connection?
Thanks for any and all replies!

someday
I don't know what to think of this but I would try and ignore it unless you are somehow going to get in trouble etc... . is it possible to just ask her? I kind of think it might be better to keep out of it.

wise advice from jellibeans. I would have my eyes and ears open and my mouth firmly shut and my mind at peace at what could be totally harmless ie don't worry about something you can do nothing about - it's wasted energy. Neither allow it to weigh on your mind, there is nothing you can do. If you can't ask her, let it go otherwise it could eat at you.
If the needles are for personal use eg heroin, then be reassured that she would be 'clean' and avoiding hep c etc.
I would have no idea what they could be for unfortunately, sorry,
Vivek
