VIDEO: "What is parental alienation?" Parental alienation is when a parent allows a child to participate or hear them degrade the other parent. This is not uncommon in divorces and the children often adjust. In severe cases, however, it can be devastating to the child. This video provides a helpful overview.

This weekend was actually not too bad, as far as living with a BPD person can be... . until Sunday night.

My stbex's grandma fell and broke her hip/leg Sunday and his folks let him know. Now I had no clue until my 10 year old told me so I immediately went downstairs to check with him and see how she was doing. I got a total rant about how insensitive I am. I was like WHUT? I was just asking about his grandma- take in consideration she is 96 and had surgery for the fracture. I was being sincere and trying to be supportive. Asking about him, his folks, her, etc...

Well, tonight I got home from work- late- because of traffic- and I was already the bad guy for that but when I had the audacity to ask how his grandma was doing he blew up on me. He told me that I am not allowed to ask him about her or ANY of his family and that I apparently don't understand how wrong I am for even broaching the subject. I knew the semi calm couldn't last for long, but really? I'm being real about it, I care about her, heck, I care about how he is doing with this, his family is doing with this.

Does this make anyone else say WTH? I has a sad because of this.  :'(
