does anyone have an enmeshed dad and a personality disordered step mom?

My dad is still married to my mom, but it sounds like you're asking why your dad is with her? In my dad's case I think he's repeating the cycle - there's a lot of indications that his mom was disordered.

Hi Sitara - Yeah it's a tough one as I never met her. I suppose it could be more than likely, the only things I know about that are that she was very mild mannered, philosophical. not any mention of what is mostly discussed here with BPD possibilities: a type BPD thats doesn't rage or maybe an 'avoidance' personality disorder of some description or I suppose a depressed parent could have an impact maybe. For the record she sounds nothing like my step mom though, whom I think is a Narc, sadly.
