The other night I told my dBPDbf that I told a friend about his diagnosis.

He explained to me that he feels really ashamed and had wanted me to talk about it with him. Yet I know that he would forbid me to (as he has mentioned before) and there I'd be all alone handling this without my friends again. To me the diagnoses is a "way out" and the fact that he's working on it is an explanation for staying - to myself and others.

How have you talked about your SO's behavior to others - with or without diagnosis?

I've talked to his mother and his best friend, simply because they've been victims of his rages. I haven't said anything about BPD, but I have let them know what's going on. Why? I couldn't deal with it myself. I am an American living abroad and I have no family - and very few friends - here.

I am debating whether or not I should tell my bosses something's up. We're a very tight-knit and small company. uBPDh's behavior has affected my job performance this year (including going with him to last minute dr.'s appts and having to call out) and I feel like I should justify myself. They know that after I spent a weekend away from work, I came home to find my husband "hadn't eaten" and was totally out of it. Should I tell them?
