I've come a long way in the last 4 months.

Today a mutual friend of myself and my exgf skyped me. He told me he had spoken to my ex and she asked him to ask me to contact her.

I stopped him immediately, told him that I wanted absolutely nothing to do with her and that her name should not be brought up in our conversations. I calmly explained that I had to protect myself at all costs from her and that I did not want her to be involved in our friendship.

He was cool about it.

I felt empowered by talking straight and setting up a solid boundary.

I did feel discomfort tbh. She is still a dark cloud in my life but I did not allow this to ruin my day.

Good for you!  From what I have researched, they have a way of recycling us back into their lives.  Only to discard us again.

Wow Lion Fire, you have come a long way.  I don't think I could have resisted that invitation.  Good for you.

That's so good to hear LF.  I am also trying to be very disciplined in not exposing myself to temptation.  I know where I need to go and I just need to go there.  Further reconsideration will only set me back.  I don't think there is any doubt you are making the right choice here.
