Been good lately...

Things have been pretty good lately. I went away on vacation and had to deal with a few incidents of her playing victim, but I moved past them pretty quickly and was able to enjoy my vacation. I had to deal with a few more drama incidents at the tail end of my vacation and when I came back home. That was tough because it involved her tearing me down publicly and lying about me. However, I did not respond or react to it. Predictably, things died down and she's back to being like we're "buddies".
I found out the other day that parents of our daughter don't want my ex at their house, so my daughter won't be able to go to their daughter's birthday party (since it falls on my ex's week). They found out that she slept with a guy at their house while she was supposed to be doing housekeeping for them. That embarassed and angered me for my daughter, and it hurt to know that her infidelity went back that far during our final recycle, but that's pretty normal to feel. Glad its in the past, moving forward. I planned a play-date with these parents so that my daughter can still see their daughter. They love me and hold nothing my ex did as a reflection of me. It's nice to know I don't have to live in the dark and keep these secrets because people can see how my ex is without me having to say a word.
But even with these incidents, I've not been pulled away from myself and my life. They hurt for a moment. They remind me of many truths, but I've been enjoying peace and focus on my own life and on my daughters. It feels good. It isn't easy. There are normal stressors that go along with being a single parent, but it is so much better. I like being alive.
Next step is having my ex move her stuff out of my house. I admit that it is not a comfortable conversation because I anticipate her garbage, yet for myself it needs to be done.
And I'm dating someone that I really feel is a good match and a good person to have a relationship with. Very exciting.
