Hello, I am new to this blog and have been driven here out of utter confusion and sheer desperation. I was romantically involved with a person who, despite not possessing any logical or rational redeemable traits, I could not seem to stop romanticizing with. He consumed my thoughts. I am a conscientious and intelligent woman, making it even more so completely unjustifiably that I could not simply firmly end a relationship with a person who was abusive across all accounts. I was embarrassed, felt lethally alone, without the ability to articulate why I couldn't just walk away. I found this blog and I'm so thankful that I read the actual words that I have been searching for over the last 3 months. I am so sorry for everyone on this blog who is undertaking a toxic relationship of their own with a BPD partner, I would not wish this upon anyone. But it feels good to know I'm not alone. I feel a wave of liberation reading other people's blogs and the articles that have been posted, especially the one about "10 false beliefs". I hope that through sharing my story and hearing the stories of others, i will find the meaning of my experience, the encouragement to prevail, and the esteem to help others by paying it forward.
I look forward to opening up to everyone here and leaving this toxic A-hole for good!
Sincerely,
Anne

Welcome to our family!
You are with people that understand the BPD nightmare and the help that this place can provide is awesome. You can't really understand what its like to be with a pwBPD unless you've been there and so talking with friends often isn't any help, everyone here knows what it's like, how the normal rules of human interaction get turned on their head.
We were exposed to the most overwhelming "love" we've ever experienced and it turned out to be a fraud and that shatters us. You're with friends here and we all help each other get through this. The great thing is the journey back is the hardest you'll ever take but you'll come through it stronger than ever, stronger and more astute than people who haven't been through this. Prepare for an absolute emotional roller coaster but we'll be here every step of the way.

Hi AnneCare1999,
I'm so sorry for what you have been through. Don't be hard on yourself. From my experience I had a whirlwind romance and BPD is difficult to detect. It's difficult to detect in the professional field?
I'm glad that you have found us. Many members here share similar experiences and can offer guidance and support. You are welcome to browse around the site and post where you feel is suitable for you. Are you undecided, planning on leaving or left and not wanting to return?
It helps to talk.
Hang in there.
