I've read about the term 'recycling' in these threads.  I haven't found the info to explain it yet.  Could someone give me an idea of the process - other than the obvious having another go at a relationship?

Hi Missp,

this is referring to the abandonment of the non through the pwBPD followed by pwBPD changing mind and the relationship then being restarted just to be terminated again just to be restarted again just to be... .

The "recycling" is a phenomena that is grounded in the push-pull behavior of the pwBPD as well as the lack of boundaries on the non side allowing such an abusing behavior.

Before labeling everything re-cycling we have however keep in mind that conflicts leading even to break-up make-up are to a degree normal in relationships with two healthy partners.

I like to think of it as a child with their toys.

You are the shiny toy that they love but they get bored with you or a new toy looks more exciting so you are put in the toy cupboard. They check you are still there and when the new toy dissapoints them they look in their toy cupboard and see what looks like fun. They then try to play with that toy. After playing with it for a while they realise that it wasnt as fun as they remembered and they see what dissapointed them about it so they look for a new shiny toy and back in the cupboard you go.
