Has anyone tried a 12 steps programme for trying to let go of a r/s with someone with BPD?

A 12 step program is a program for someone with a disorder, alcohol initially, and now everything under the sun.  I don't think it's necessarily applicable to detaching from a relationship with a borderline, although there are programs like Codependents Anonymous that could be helpful once we get to the stage of detachment where we're ready to shift the focus entirely from the borderline to us.

I'm part of the 12 step community and I have found alanon to be quite helpful. It's for family members of alcoholics/addicts, but the principles and lessons can be applied to letting go/coping with your BPD, at least I have found. You might look into it.

Okay, I tried this and it was really useful. It recommended that you go 6 x and then decide if you want yo do the 12 steps.
