I think by the time it's clear something is going wrong it becomes harder to reach them. Every time I've contacted my ex in the 3 months since the break up she takes what I say in a very negative light.

The one thing she says she thinks contributed to the downfall was that I tried to push her to get help. She would have rather I just let her do what she wanted ie. Sleeping in very late, eating badly etc, which I couldn't do because she was getting depressed about her lifestyle. It was a game where every move loses.

Well necessity as we have mutual friends. I told her a week after the "break" started saying I wanted to make it work but she took it as me attempting to guilt trip her.

Took the presents I'd bought her before the break up that I gave her for her birthday as something, she barely registered them but I think she thought I was trying to win her back.

After two months of no contact I saw her last week and she was drinking heavily (she barely drank before) and I asked if she was ok, she took it as "parenting"

Now shes taking the fact I confided in mutual friends and asked them how she was doing as trying to spy or manipulate her.

Yesterday she asked me to never contact her again. I will comply.

Oh ok I see. I've been strict NC for two months . I have thought about reaching out but always think better of it since she talked to me like a piece of crap our last conversation. Actually today is her birthday and I refuse to text her. There is no reason to. We also have a mutual friend but I won't contact her. I'm trying not to care anymore.
