My ex stopped caring for our son back in Oct 2015 because she was too ill and soon afterward claimed to have cancer, then lupus and receiving treatments for the lupus. I found out yesterday this was all a lie, her doctor said she was completely fine. Incredible!

Anyone else have to deal with so many false illnesses?

How did you get her doctor to comment on her health?

My xBPD didn't claim any fictitious illness, but if yours is indeed lying about medical problems to avoid handling her responsibilities for your child then that's something that you should probably document for any future custody difficulties.

Hello MapleBob, I just learned the truth from my exs sister in law yesterday, no one was/is surprised as she's had a long history of fake illnesses to garner sympothy or attention. I will document it, need to hire a private secretary though. I tried documenting all her text of suicide threats and other lies but I was overwhelmed with 1000 of texts, she loved texting but never liked talking on her phone.  Very strange. She posted on FB last week she would just give our son up after losing his child support. Well duh! You don't have him for 4 months don't you think his child support should go to the people who are caring for him instead of you living off it like you have since day one? Such craziness

Yes, he went so far as to have a liver biopsy and when I finally went to the Dr. to see what was happening, I told the Dr. he drank way more than he was letting on. The Dr. was mad and told him to come back when he was sober for 3 months! The poor guy was wracking his brain to figure out what was wrong with him. He was tickled to pieces to have all the attention and to get out of work. He pinched my leg the whole time I was telling the Dr. the truth! Let's see; his Mom had breast cancer, I had breast cancer, my Dad died, on and on it went at his work place... .I would go in to his store and every one would be telling me that they were so sorry.  I even got a sympathy card from his employment! I would just go along with it, because I didn't want him to lose his job and deal with the consequences when he got home! I don't know what the answer is on how to handle it, but yes... .I can totally believe someone like this would go to that extreme. Usually it is to get out of something- responsibilities sounds like the right answer! My ex would take other peoples stories... .my sister had breast cancer at the time.
