Meant to post this earlier.

Friday and Saturday where pretty much spent staying out of my wife's way.

I followed a lead from a buddy of mine up here to the "best burger in town" and went there for lunch on Friday.  Burger with blue cheese drizzle on it.  Wow, it was good.  I went by myself, watched some basketball while I ate.  Was in no particular hurry.  It was all about enjoying a good relaxing lunch for me.

I've also been swimming more (good exercise but easy on my joints).

So here is the challenge.  Pick something like this, and do it.  Just for you!  Share the experience here.

We are worth it!

Yoga, horseback riding, exercise bike, TRX, gardening, hanging out with all the animals, organizing, decluttering and getting rid of things. And especially, talking with friends!

There's lots I can do to feel better, but why don't I do those things sometimes? Most likely the answer is that I'm down in the mud, trying to make sense of my husband's behavior rather than taking care of myself. Note to self--remember the phrase "healthy narcissism".

Good idea! Something that I've been encouraged to do by my counselor types is to incorporate self-care into every day.

I got a coloring book recently that has Scriptures about God's love for us. So, today, I have it with me and am coloring during my breaks from my work. I figured that I needed something that was not mentally intensive and that could refocus me on something positive.

When my h was out of town, I went to a local cider brewery and enjoyed a drink by myself.

This is great idea for a thread!

I went to the gym today, for a quick workout, and also had a long walk with our puppy. The dog has been really good for me.

Tonight I am making homemade pizza for the kids. And I am going to have a bubble bath.

Cat Familiar, I love talking with friends but for some reason don't do it as much as I should. I have a fear of burdening people. I need to work on that.

Yes great thread. So what are some ways that you are bale to do these activities? I don't think I would be able to get away without worrying about the flack I would receive for "ignoring her or not wanting to spend time with her".

I do love the idea of a day in forest or fishing.

That is the key, don't worry about the flak.

I did my exercise bike then a snake-aversion class with my dog. Because my Bpd is regulating, I have spent two weeks eating meals alone, sleeping alone, and this has given me time to learn to crochet, catch up on reading, and look at job postings in other towns... .

Today I'm going to:

Go on a bike ride

Read my student's dissertation in the hot tub

Eat well

Let go and let God about my BPD partner being mad at me

If I have time, plant some wild flowers
