Hi all,

I think I'm in the right place. Maybe I can find some understanding here for all the confusion and self blame I've experienced being raised by a Borderline parent. I've come to terms with this fact in many ways but I still strugle with the emotional aftermath. I also have problems with my sister who shows many of the traits of a borderline. I have empathy for them but I need to focus on my own growth.

thanks

Hi confused mike

I think you definitely have come to the right place. Welcome to bpdfamily

Being raised by a borderline parent can be very tough and confusing indeed. Could you perhaps tell us a bit more about what you've been through with your parent? What were the behaviors of your BPD parent that you found the most difficult to deal with?

You mention how you still struggle with the emotional aftermath. Many children of BPD parents find themselves struggling in their adult lives. That's why I'm glad you are reaching out here for support and advice.

You say your sister also shows many traits of BPD. What is your current living situation? Do you live with your BPD parent and sister?

Hi confused mike,

Welcome to the board. What issues are you still struggling to come to terms with ? What aspects of your own growth would you like to focus on ?
