My 32 year old daughter has recently been diagnosed with BPD.  She has had mental health issues for many years and in the past was diagnosed with depression and anxiety.  She has had lots of therapy but it all seemed to help a little but not a lot.  We are now struggling with trying to find a therapist, which is easier said than done.  My daughter doesn't drive and has a 15 month old.  I recently came from my home 8 hours away to help out and try to find a therapist.  I am seeing first hand the anger and outbursts and she is finally explaining to me all that we did wrong when she was growing up.  Needless to say it is quite painful.  She seems to have deteriorated a lot in the last few months.  I am managing the best I can, but wanted to get started with this group.  Thanks!

Welcome!

We've gone through many therapists.  The last my BPD 18y daughter had (when she was home) was the best, but she wasn't able to really help.  We ended up placing her in a RTC.  You might want to look into DBT if possible.  If trama is involved I've heard great things about EMDR.  I would look for a therapist with experience with BPD.

Hope you find the help she needs.

Hello and welcome to the forum  .

I came here  a week ago so am still very new myself. My daughter is a similar age and has also just received a diagnosis of BPD. She has in the past been treated for depression and anxiety the same as your daughter.

It is so painful to hear that they think you are the cause of this and I have accepted that to some extent I am and feel racked with guilt.i was advised to read as much as I could which is what I am doing

My daughter is in therapy but it was arranged by her husband and so can not help with that.

Do you think the stress of looking after her baby has made her problems worse?

Take care
