Painful dreams not connected to friend.. or are they?
«

This week I have had 2 dreams which when I have woken up I feel overwhelming sadness and a racing heart and sure I woke myself up with a loud sob at one time. Both of these dreams involve my mum and in them she is leaving me; she is abandoning me. Last night's dream she just upped and left and when I text her to ask where she was she said she didn't want to be a mum anymore and she had had enough and had moved to the other side of the country.
I do have abandonment issues (dad left when I was a year old, mum left to move to the USA (I live in UK) when I was 19, which was closely followed by the death of both grandparents within a couple of years, husband having an affair etc.). However, I talk to my mum and we have a good relationship. I struggle with not having a mum/daughter relationship like my friends do with theirs, such as going out for lunch or seeing a show etc., but I have as fairly a normal relationship with my mum as I can given the distance.
I am wondering whether this is linked to my BPD friendship ending. Its strange because I am feeling ok about it all at the moment but wondering subconsciously if its still on my mind more than I think.
Just needed to get it down really.

Hey izzybusy
Yes, it is entirely possible that your feelings about your FOO relationships are tied to your BPD r/s; in fact, I would be surprised if they were not. This is the template and origin of how we learn to relate with and to others.
So what do you think these dreams mean in context of your BPD friend?
