My uBPDw moved out today. I have no intention of whooping it up with friends and ringing in the new year.

It will be so weird being without her. I don't even know what I am going to feel. Sadness no doubt.

For those that are suffering like I am, either because the break up is recent or still feels like it is, how are you going to make it a good night? Or keep it from being an awful night?

Any suggestions on how to self-sooth?

Hi michel-

Any suggestions on how to self-sooth?

Yes, focus on the fact that a new year is a time of renewal and rebirth, another chance to create the life of our dreams.  If she moved out today, that means 2017 will be all yours.  Me, I entered every new year with a raging hangover for years, but these days, use new years eve to reflect on the year that is ending, identify the wins, the losses and the lessons, and what we're grateful for, then focus on how amazing the new year is going to be, go to bed early and sober, and welcome the new year at sunrise, energized and excited.  We always have a choice as to what we focus on.
