How to communicate after a contentious divorce... Following a contentious divorce and custody battle, there are often high emotion and tensions between the parents. Hello all of you,

These last couple of days I've been doing my own stuff, trying to get my mind in order et c. I've been thinking of friends during this time.

You who like me lost friends on the way because of the isolation, and have reached out or thinking of doing just that, how do you feel about those things? I have quite a long story as to why I haven't been talking to a couple of friends for about ten months (they don't know the full story) but they've been on my mind (when I've had one). I'm a bit worried since I'm not sure they would understand me. I feel somewhat trapped, and guilty. Things have quite been turned upside down, as you all would know.

Any thoughts/experiences?
Take care.

gauge it person by person, and based on the nature of your relationship.

ive been in both positions. after my uBPDex i reached out to some long neglected friends. the majority of them pretty much told me thanks but no thanks on reviving our friendship. in retrospect, i think a lot of that was as a result of my approach; i was needy, vulnerable, hurting, even desperate, and it came off. for the most part, in most cases, i think its best to slowly, lightly, reestablish contact.

for closer friends? you can probably pour your heart out, and theyll be there for you Smiling (click to insert in post)
