Overheard the girl my ex has been flirting with tonight say if she is going to date someone she wants her to be a lesbian! Which concludes that her and my ex are not dating, but I think they're at least sleeping together.

I'm pretty sure the conversation went something like this, whisper: "Why don't you just date (my ex)"

Reply, "If I am going to date a girl I want to date a lesbian."

I strangely feel ok right now about it all. I'm a little hurt they would talk about her in front of me.  I am pretty sure this girl knows I am her ex I mean come on.  But I am also feeling good because I am not getting too upset about it which means I am more over her, right?

I've been applying to new jobs because I need to cut this tie with her too. I have a job interview on tuea. I'm hoping it leads to a new job! If you could send good vibes my way that would be wonderful!

Hi Shedd

It makes sense to feel hurt when people talk about an ex partner dating someone in a conversation, especially after a breakup. It didn't work between two people, and it makes sense to feel some sense loss. When one person is thought of to be dating a later, and different person, that sense of loss can feel more real.

If you're not getting too upset over it--yes I do think that can be seen as a indication of detachment. Or being "over her". When we have successfully detached from a relationship, it may feel better because we can experience that life is okay or better in this state. It does seem to have a comforting effect.

I hope things go well for your interview.  Smiling (click to insert in post)
