Wow! I just read my first book on BPD, and immediately, I went to buy 3 more copies (for each of my nonBP family members), as well as the workbook. I am now waiting for everyone to finish reading so we can discuss it as a family. We have all just thought Mom is "different" (even "weird", "nuts" but thought it was just "her". I am having such a mixture of emotions/thoughts right now, but I feeling hopeful that I might learn some new ways to deal with difficult conversations/situations with her. Mom is now 70 and dad thinks it's too late for change. I'm trying to explain to him that that is okay - WE will make the changes. I think he is scared of the repercussions (as am I, but I don't have to spend every day with her). I am hoping that we will get support on this site as we begin our scary new journey. Thanks!

Hey Hopeforever, I'm new here too and I just took this scary journey towards the understanding (I hope) how to cope with my BPD mom and to... .well... .to be able to survive. I've read 3 BPD books by now and now reading one about co-dependence as it describes me partly. Just wanted to say that I really like the positive note of your post, I think you'll make it! Good luck !
