just got the 20 page report from our psychiatrist ... .We have heard BiPolar over the years ... .and then other diagnosis. This round It's Borderline Personality Disorder with fewer of the others. I am still not clear on this "disorder" but a friend recommended this page for support.

Hugs to those that need it. Laura

Hello Designerlulu... .and welcome.

We had been dealing with our daughter's shocking behaviours for years before we heard the words "Borderline Personality Disorder."  Although she has never been officially diagnosed, sometimes when I am reading up on the disorder, I am sure it has been written about her.

Hopefully your daughter will work with this psychiatrist... .and hopefully he will work with you, too.  This website has a wealth of information, with links to more.  The added advantage to being active on this forum is that it acts as a sounding board for those who are dealing with significant others (in our case our children) who exhibit BPD behaviours.  Some posts will "click" with you... .mirror some of your problems.  Vice-versa with your posts.  While there are no immediate answers, there can be comfort in knowing you are not alone.  We, as parents of these troubled children, need all the help we can get.

It is important, Designerlulu, to work on looking after yourself... .whatever it takes to put some smiles on your face... .do it.  You need that to carry on effectively.

Hope to hear more from you as you continue on this journey.   Others will be interested as they, also inch themselves along the way.

Once again, welcome!
