My sister was recently diagnosed with BPD. As a social worker I have some experience working with the disorder, but it's a whole new ball game when it's my family... .
The diagnosis almost feels like a relief in a way. She has had a dx of PTSD, anxiety, and depression for years, but I always felt that there was something else underlying.
I am really tired. It's hard to be her sister... .I love her and would do anything for her, but she constantly hurts the family and I am always walking on eggshells. In all honesty, if she wasn't my sister I would cut her out of my life.
Any support or ideas for a newbie? Thanks a bunch.

Hi BigSister5,

Welcome

How is she hurting the family and you?

You are not alone! My older sister is BPD and drives me crazy. She tells the world we are the closest of sisters when in reality she is constantly putting me and my family down and I cannot stand her for over an hour a week. You put it perfectly. It is exhausting being a BPD sister.
