Hello,
I'm here to learn how I can be better at communicating peacefully and wisely with my son's wife; and how I can take care of my own self as well.
thank you

Hi and welcome to the board. We have several people posting here who have in-laws with BPD or uBPD (undiagnosed BPD) so you are in good company. We have many tools and a few more details from you will help us narrow down which ones to recommend.
What sort of behaviors is your DIL exhibiting that prompted you to seek help? Are there grandchildren involved? How would you describe your relationship with your DIL today?
Also, over on the right hand side of the page are some links to articles you can check out. Under "Lessons" the first thing listed is 'Taking Care of Yourself'.
I am glad you found us as we are all working on coming to terms with having a disordered family member. We all come together to support each other and brainstorm some solutions and strategies too. So I hope you settle in and keep participating on the board. Doing so has helped me immensely.

Seacats and WELCOME!
I want to join
Harri
in welcoming you. I’m so glad you’ve found us and reached out.
Harri has asked some good questions. I look forward to learning more about you and how we may help you move forward in a healthy manner with your DIL.

As you continue to reach out, learning all you can, you will indeed understand more. Many of us began facing the challenges of having family members with BP by learning everything we could about BPD. Using the tools on this site, you will indeed learn ways to more effectively communicate with your son's wife while taking care of yourself as well. Keep us posted on how you are doing, and what you have learned.
