My significant other has BPD and it seems to be leading us straight to a divorce. I feel like I have tried everything to support him through this, yet I was the one who seems to been hurt the most or at least who is the most devastated. I feel so lost, confused, and alone. The wonderful man that I married and still love is being overshadowed by his illness and doesn't believe that he needs support. I do not know if I am even doing the right thing by going through with the divorce, but I know his behavior has gotten out of control and he has no emotions at this point, at least that is what it seems. I truly love him and want him to get better. I try to understand, I feel like I do not know him or know how to truly support him anymore, but by leaving the relationship.

Hi sbrown,

Welcome

I am sorry you are feeling so lost, confused, and alone! You are not alone! And you found us here so that's a big step. We can help with the confusion too.   Are you just finding out about BPD/BPD traits?

Why do you say your partner does not have emotions?

What brought you to the point of being so near divorce?

Be sure to check out the lessons to the right of the board here. Bullet: important point (click to insert in post)

They will help with cutting down on the confusion!

wishing you peace, pearl.

sbrown,

I want to join pearlsw in welcoming you and offer  .

In addition to the questions pearlsw had, I was wondering how your husband was diagnosed and whether treatment for BPD has been recommended/pursued.

Please let us know how we can help.
