My SO is withdrawing again. I note that she appears to be much closer with her mother who is very controlling and jealous of her daughters partners.

It is like her mother is good and I am bad at the moment. So she is ignoring me and ringing her mother daily (which is not the norm).

Is this typical of BPD? She can be heavily influenced by her mother as she confides in her and no-one else apart from me.

I'm not sure how common it is, but it certainly isn't surprising.  Your wife may well not have a healthy attachment style with her mother.  It sounds like she is "enmeshed" and her mother is threatened by your wife and her sisters forming healthy attachments with others.

Is our wife's relationship with her mother fairly steady, or cyclical?  Has anything happened recently in either of their lives that might explain the recent change?

How are you hearing that you are bad?  How are you reacting?
