I am new to this forum. My adult daughter has BPD. 2 and a half years ago she had a son. They both live with me and I am having a hard time. I finally realized that I can't do this alone and I need to get help.
Previously I had only been trying to get her help. I have ordered the family guide book and hope to learn better ways to communicate with her, as her yelling at me and my yelling back out of frustration is not working. Also as i am starting to learn more about BPD, it helps to know that she is not just a bad person but is in emotional pain. I am dealing with a lot of anxiety. I wanted to sign up to this forum so I could read other posts and I will post more. Thank You

Hi Jane7  Welcome new member (click to insert in post)

I'd like to joing once removed in welcoming you to BPD family.

You've come to the right place to learn new ways to communicate with your daughter, we are all learning together and supporting each other in our efforts.

My daughter and her 4 year old son live with me so I understand the unique struggle that comes with that. With the help of family here, as well as the articles and lessons, I'm learning how to end the cycle of conflict and support my daughter while also taking care of myself. Not to say it's been easy, no, but you're well on your way with your decision to reach out for support - we can't do this alone and we don't have to.

I look forward to hearing more from you, I'm glad you're here.
