Paragraph header  (click to insert in post)

He is currently hospitalized for suicidal threats and ideation for the third time. He is living with me and destroyed his room after I mentioned he is not allowed to self-harm or drink excessively in my home.

He is denying any help, he hasn't seen a therapist since she called a welfare check on him. He has lied to the mental health hospital multiple times to weasel his way out of inpatient care and is about to be released again.

I dont know what to do. I dont know where he will go, except the streets. He's lost his job, he is always thinking about suicide. I don't want him to come home and I've asked him to leave, but I feel I have no choice but to protect myself.

I am so sorry you find yourself in a difficult place. I

Does the facility in which your brother currently reviving treatment have a permanent social worker, or a relationship with a group that provides social services? A social worker can assist with transition arrangements when a patient is discharged from a hospital.

Hi bree1026d,

This is a very tough situation with your brother, I am sorry you are having to deal with it. This is the third time he's been hospitalized for suicidal tendencies, were the other hospitalizations also quite recently?

A few days have passed since you posted this, how are things now? Where is your brother now?

This is a difficult situation indeed, I am glad you reached out for support and advice here
