My 19-year-old daughter is newly diagnosed with BPD.  As I learn more, I believe her father had undiagnosed BPD which ended our marriage and ultimately ended his life by suicide.
I have been searching for help and coming up short and confused.  I am told she needs an intensive in-person DBT group but can not find that without extreme waitlists.  I found a childhood trauma therapist and a one-hour-a-week DBT group but does not feel like enough.  What can I do to help while we wait?

thank you so much.

Welcome- my suggestion would be to at least start with the DBT group while you wait. It is something , which is better than nothing.  You can even have your daughter try out the trauma therapist for a session.  It is wonderful she is cooperative in getting treatment.  I would also recommend you learning all you can about BPD and there are some suggested readings in the "Library" here.  One of the things you will learn is taking care of you is taking care of the BPD in your life.
.  My adult son's father had undiagnosed BPD causing the marriage to end as well .  You are not alone ;We are glad you found us.
