Can people with BPD see BPD in others?

Crazy question, I know.

However I was triggered by a remarkable thing.
I was watching a Netflix series with my BPD GF, and one of the main characters clearly has BPD. He is stalking his GF, secretly checking her phone, accusing her of cheating on him, checking her social media, mood swings...

I'm sitting next to my GF thinking: 'O now, that is her,'. However she is all hooked on the show saying things like: 'OMG, that is crazy.' Even encouraging the other main character without BPD when she puts the BPD in his place.

In the series there is even a conversation about the importance of trust, ALMOST LITERALLY THE CONVERSATION WE HAD, and still it does not ring a bell in her mind.

So I'm almost sure - they do not see it in themselves, but BPD people can see if someone else does it, that it is wrong.
