Mine says his was perfect/idyllic. Does anyone else get that? I do believe from the information, which isnt alot, his mom was BPD.
Yet when i ask about things occasionally trying to gain some insight he doesnt seem to know... things like what was the favorite food your mom made? I know he ate pizza TONS and still eats pizza 4 nights a week, sometimes more. Yet he has a favorite dish my mom makes and always talks about it. we have been together 10 year and this dish became a huge deal for him in only a few years... .
Sure hope some of you have some insight here.

He's very clear about it being miserable. However, he's not good with memories and placing events on a timeline. He says he has no idea when things happened, if it was 5 years ago or 10 years ago fex. And he says he doesn't have many memories from his childhood. The ones he has told me have been about 90% awful and 10% happy. My dBPDbf would also have trouble stating his favourite food as a child or his favourite program on TV etc. I guess it's a survival strategy?

Mine cannot tell me about anything his mom ever made to eat. He also hates to sit at a table for a meal. Yet he has so many specific memories that are positive. I have ask 1 friend of his and she doesnt seem to remember things that hubby does remember. He says she came to all his games, tennis matches etc... He excelled in sports, and wasnt home alot due to practices. He played football, baseball and tennis so was busy year round. This friend, a next door neighbor doesnt remember mom always being there at all He wont allow me to meet his friends from home. His mom committed suicide and he vividly remembers that day. His father was accused of murdering her, which was not true, He was busy drinking and womanizing.( I got this from other conversations from dad's family members before they died. It is so sad. But he had to endure the media coverage, and watch his father go thru a criminal investigation...
