Probably just venting but I just had an emotional time this morning with my son. His emotions were all over the place and it really got to me. Then he starts the blaming game like I'm the worse person on earth. When I finally break the tension and just leave (MY HOME!) he calls me later with his usual "needy" and pitiful excuses with no insight or motivation for change. If he would just get on some medication... .   OK, I guess I feel better. Thanks!

It's good to vent sometimes - especially somewhere people understand what you are going through.Smiling (click to insert in post)

My son is awesome at finding excuses for his horrible behavior, nothing is ever his fault. Sometimes he'd even get me believing I was the problem despite everything I know about him.

I agree that we all need to vent sometimes, especially with folks who understand what we're going through!  With our DD13 we have noticed there always has to be someone to blame, whether it's herself, us or someone else!  We are here for you always   !

I think at times like that you can really see his illness... .   blaming everyone and everything... .   try to step back and not let it hurt you... .   don't doubt you are a good parent... .   it is important that you know that... .   on the other side your son is sick and if he could do better he would so it works both ways... .

It is hard when we are trying to do it right and our kids just want to blame us for all the ills of the world. And to stand in the face of their anger and chaos is so hurtful.

Gail56, you are amongst friends here. Let us know how you are going.

cheers,

Vivek

Hi Gail56,

Welcome

Welcome to the board!

It is so hard to be the target of the blame game... .

Venting, or sharing our troubles makes us feel better if we find a person that understands what we are going through. This is an excellent and a safe place to share.

Keep coming back. No trouble is too little to share here, you have already gone through so much!
