Before you can make things better, you have to stop making them worse... Have you considered that being critical, judgmental, or invalidating toward the other parent, no matter what she or he just did will only make matters worse? Someone has to be do something. This means finding the motivation to stop making things worse, learning how to interrupt your own negative responses, body language, facial expressions, voice tone, and learning how to inhibit your urges to do things that you later realize are contributing to the tensions.

I thought I could change my conference, but now I'm being told that the courts call stop you from changing lawyers after the conf.  Is that true?

I've heard of times when a lawyer is not allowed to withdraw from a case.  I've also heard of time when a party is told that a case won't be continued (that is, delayed to a later date to allow getting a new lawyer or bringing a new lawyer up to speed) if he/she fires or changes the lawyer representing him/her.  I don't know if they can stop you from changing.

actually i found out that you certainly can change after the conference (at least in my state).  it's after the early settlement panel that you can't.
