Single Parent Go-Bag
«

I wanted to thank everyone that gave me advice 4 years ago, that as a single parent of an xBPD to always have a "Go-Bag" packed and ready to go at a moment's notice. It was invaluable to me this week when I got a call that dxBPD was at the ER w/ S4 (all turned out fine). I was able to grab and was out the door in minutes, and prepared to spend the day
the hospital... .
The advice from this board has really helped and I appreciate bpdfamily.com!
What was packed:
Spare Phone Charger [THIS SAVED MY DAY!]
Toiletries
Underwear/tshirts/socks for me
Backup Credit Card and $20 cash (couple of singles for vending machines)
Parenting Agreement/Divorce Decree
Hard copy of family phone numbers
What I need to add/update:
Underwear/socks /tshirts for kids
Couple of books/toys/small stuffed animal for kids

Good deal DavidWebb
I am so glad it all turned out ok.
This will help others here. I don't know how many have heard of this.

Here is a copy from my local group :
escape bag, after escape destination planned, transportation planned, extra keys, income, code words, pets escape, can of fix a flat, cash, helpers, gas always half full, phone access, cell phone, protective injunction if needed ,entry alarms, car hidden parked away, good outdoor lighting, cancel bank account if needed, change all passwords and PINS, call blocks on phone
Now personally, things I gradually took out of the home pertaining to children are sentimental items, birth certificate, hospital bracelets, health records, social security cards, lease agreement/deed , divorce papers, possibly few small toys keep children happy (their favorite toys if possible or favorite blanket) , bring shoes for the kids, school records if that applies, family photos
Think of it almost as a fire prep., or hurricane/ tornado. Don't leave anything important behind.
