Dear Friends ,

I am new to this site (yesterday)  . I am planning to separate from my BPD girlfriend of 4 months mainly because of emotional abuse and also she has no empathy for my chronic depression .

She is not ready to see a therapist claiming she is normal but she exhibits all the classic symptoms of BPD . I briefly mentioned that i am not happy in relationship and also has told that i am not feeling well because of depression .

Ours is long distance relationship  . If my mind is made up on leaving what is best way to stop this relationship

1. Run away assuming she will manage as she briefly threatened suicide when i barely mentioned i am not happy in relationship

2 . Increasingly stress on my depression saying i cant talk properly and act confused and try to bore her

3 Explain i am not interested in continuing ( she is not ready for adult conversation )

Please help  ... . Should i go suddenly non contact  ?

Become a detached friend, then break it off after a while. Sounds like my wife exactly. I'm starting a divorce and bought and read the book "BIFF". I talks about communicating with high conflict people by being Brief, Informative, Friendly, and FIRM. I can't explain it completely like the author  Bill Eddy does, but I gives you tools to deal with this situation. For me it helps me keep my sanity.
