DD met Marc Mero, a former pro wrestler turned motivational speaker, at her middle school last year!  His big emphasis is prevention of bullying and he speaks all over the world in schools, churches, etc.  When he was speaking at a church several months later she wanted to attend so we did and got a chance to chat briefly with him.  She has a history of suicidal thoughts, being victimized by bullies, self-harm, anorexia and bulimia among other responses typical of BPD traits (she's 14).  She has been doing so much better, obviously better!  He observed this when he spoke 2 weeks ago at her church camp.  Yesterday, on her birthday, he called and asked if she and DH and I would be willing to allow her to speak on a video, which he shows at the end of every presentation!  You bet!  He and I both think it would be healing for her as well as helpful for others, so we are off to have her recorded on Friday morning!  She is over the moon and we are so proud of her!  I have to say that he is in a large part responsible for her improvements!  For those of you who have upper elementary, middle and high school aged kids it might be worth it to have your schools look into booking him for a presentation.  Generally he gets companies to sponsor him, so there is no charge to the students.
