Update from Mister-M

I hadn't realized how long it had been since I last visited the place that started me down the path to greater understanding of what we were dealing with and how to better manage myself and my situation.

So much has happened since I last posted in the summer of 2011, right about that time my divorce and custody dispute went public... .big-time public, national/world news for a brief period.  I lost (briefly) the 50/50 custody I managed to have of our two children in December of 2011.  By this time last year, 2012, I had managed to get primary (practically full) custody of the boys.

Along that path to great triumph, we (mmm and I) suffered great tragedy as my step-daughter, mmm's daughter, was diagnosed with cancer at age 13, deteriorated quickly and passed away last December amidst all of the custody turmoil.  She was one of my biggest fans and cheerleaders and perhaps by the grace of a higher power, all six of us (me, mmm, my two, her two) got to spend at least a few months in the full company of one another as a family for the first time in 10 years.

I owe this place a tremendous debt of gratitude for without it, I likely would have continued to make more incorrect decisions than correct ones, I wouldn't have been able to teach my children to navigate a world involving such high-conflict and distorted experiences to be as normal as anyone, I wouldn't have been prompted to "pay-it-forward" to help others in my own way (which continues today) with their high-conflict divorce and custody situations, more than likely involving the disorders that so many talk about here.

I'm sorry for your loss.  Losing her at such a young age must have been very hard for you all.
