Picked DD up at the shelter and we went to grab a quick breakfast at McDonalds before going to get her hair fixed. She got angry when I told her I would not be buying her the cigs and tried to use SET and she blew up saying she hates when I do that.  My DD can see through it. Anway, she swindled a cig from someone at McDonalds anyway. Long story short, we get there and we meet with her caseworker and she was pretty strict straight from the getgo, DD got an attitude.  And when DD walked away, the caseworker said how she don't do attitude. Oh boy. This is gonna be interesting. DD whispered to me as I was hugging her good bye how she's gonna end up punching the lady in her face... .

Her social worker at the shelter told me today how I have my hands full with her. And this is coming from a man who deals with very disturbed kids coming in to his shelter. From the beginning they butted heads. Why? Because he doesn't take any crap and she doesn't back down.

DD was not happy that she couldn't have makeup at the RTC, has to wear a uniform and can only call my ex and I once a week for 15 minutes after the first two weeks there.

I left really a mixture of emotions. I'm still kinda reeling from it all quite frankly.

I'm glad to know your DD got to her RTC safely.Today has been a long time coming, and it would have never happened without your hard work.   With her aversion to rules of any kind, your DD probably will have a tough time.  It really is up to her at this point.

Maybe she will figure out soon that doing what she's told and what she's supposed to will actually make her life easier.  If she doesn't, the harsh reality is where she could very well end up will make detention and this RTC seem like a picnic.  Hopefully, the staff there can help her see that.

I pray this experience can be a turning point for her so that never happens.  God bless you and your family.  Take care of yourself and know that your DD is in the best possible place she could be right now.

Ray

Take this time to recoop and recover... . you have been through a lot... . don't worry about your dd. She is in good hands and I am sure they have seen it all... . you are not going to see huge changes overnight... . this will take time. I would remind your dd that she is in control of when she comes home. I am hoping weekend passes need to be earned right now... . I would not want her coming home for the weekend for a while. She needs to earn that priviledge... . hopefully she can quit the cigs while in there too!
