Waiting to hear if Willow Springs accepts 13yod

I feel so grateful to have read all of the stories on this board. My 13yodd is (hopefully) going to be admitted to a residential adolescent DBT program next week. We have tried therapy for a year, and things have not been getting better. They may in fact be getting worse.

I have a couple of questions for parents with kids in RTC.  #1 How did you get your kids to RTC, how soon did you tell them they were leaving? #2 Do you think RTC was/is the best option for your child? 

Also, if anyone has had experience with Willow Springs in Reno I would love to know about your experiences there.

Our objective is to better understand the struggles our child faces and to learn the skills to improve our relationship and provide a supportive environment and also improve on our own emotional responses, attitudes and effectiveness as a family leaders
