She made contact... sort of?

Well... .after one month and 3 days of no contact, she sort of made contact. Around June 28 I sent a humorous email to a bunch of co-workers and her name was included. Then June 30 I sent another one. On July 2 she randomly sent me an email in the afternoon using her old ! exclamations. She thought my emails were funny and masterful. That was it. Nothing more.
The aftermath of that was feeling like I was injected with 50ccs of pure life giving force. I had already given up the notion of ever hearing from her even at work and was almost at a stage of accepting moving forward. I was feeling confident and optimistic about the future overall but with an overhanging grey cloud reminding me of the painful loss. Her few simple words really invigorated me somehow. I replied with a short email response saying I was glad she found them funny, nothing personal.
Don't know what is supposed to happen next, if anything. The strange thing is driving home at night the day before, I saw the clock read 11:11 and I made a wish that she would text or email me soon. My wish was granted the next day. I can't describe what that felt like, just to hear a few sentences from her. Why it has such a profound effect on me I really can't say. I don't know if her current boyfriend was just not emailing her enough that day or why she would bother to email me but I'll take it for what it's worth. The excited feeling has worn off now, like a drug withdrawing from my system.
What a desperate person I must be... .I don't feel that way or display myself that way, but I must be desperate if a simple email from her can provide that much happiness.
