A little scared
«
on:

My GC were telling me my DBPD and her scitzophrentic hubby were discussing buying a gun. They said he couldn't get clearance but she could.
Realize right now I'm the problem in her life. Not the drugs or her lifestyle. CPS told us in court they were about to remove the children if I didn't get custody but she stood there in denial.
I'm not sure what to do with this information.

Dear manicmuse
Do you think they are going to fight for the kids and become violent? I might report this to the police or to CPS... .I would be concerned too with this infomation. Do you have a plan in place for yourself?

Yikes!
I agree with Jellibeans that perhaps you need to report this to the police, Social Services and the Court. Maybe they know how to put your BPDD on the list of people who cannot own firearms? I don't know what the laws are in other states, but Calif. has a 10-day waiting period while they do background checks before allowing someone to buy a gun. (Not sure how well it works though, as somehow, criminals always manage to get a hold of guns, regardless of how strict the laws are.) I hope you find some public agency that can help you with this. When you do, please let us know here.
Manicmuse, I'm so sorry you're going through this! How scary and sad. I hope someday your DD figures out how lucky she is that you stepped in to love and care for her children when she could not.

I would definately discuss this with the police so that they are aware and can act quickly if needed.
In some places they can give you a special number to ring or a house alarm. Its best to be on the safe side.
You are doing a great thing for your GC and I'm sorry you are having all this stress

Wow, this must be really stressful, manicmuse.
I agree with others that safety comes first - better safe than sorry.

The Judge and CPS are done with her. She's had years to work out her life and as you see she's getting worse.
We are also concerned because with the drugs ages surrounded by people who could probably get her one.
She's do delusional of course it wouldn't get her kids back.
I'm going over to the local police department today I'll see what they say. At least I can give them a heads up.
