already divorced, but ? now about pension evaluators

I'm sure all that are divorced, or going through a divorce know how long upwBPD can drag things on and on.
Mine did for the divorce by refusing to submit discovery. Cost me close to $20,000 for the divorce.
Well, I don't want to go through this again.
Well the lawyer that I had for the divorce recently received a letter from my ex's attorney that he is retiring. He is a Federal Employee under CSRS. (Civil Service Retirement System). I am entitled to a percentage of his pension, but we need to have a COAP (Court Oder Approved for Processing done. Similar to a QUADRO. He did go to a Pension Evaluator to have this done, but I don't agree with it, I also am ordered by court to pay 50% for this evaluation. My ex paid all of it, and I am to reimburse him. My atty knows how he can drag things out and since I know more about COAP's the she does, and she would have to get another evaluation done, which would cost me even more money.
She had suggested that I could represent myself, thereby not having to pay her for all the letters that go unanswered.
So after that whole long story, my question is: Can I call the pension evaluator that he had hired, tell them that I will pay my share for this evaluation directly to them, they can reimburse my ex, then they will also be working for me?
To be this seems a lot cheaper, then going out an spending about another $800. to have them done myself. I am a civil service annuitant, and he is also entitled to a % of mine.

Hmm... .
I'd think you should see if you can hire your own pension evaluator. Then argue, you both hired and paid for one... .it's even. And argue for an average of the two.
